Cavite Pig City
Application: Cogeneration from Digester Gas on a Piggery
Description of facility:
Entec packaged a Waukesha APG1000 Enginator system into a modified 40' shipping container. The Enginator produces up to 1,100kWe of electrical power, running on biogas generated within a digester at this large, modern pig farm.
The completed package includes a dump heat radiator, PLC controls, switchgear panel and heat recovery equipment. Heat is recovered from the engine jacket and high-temperature intercooler circuits, and circulated throughout some of the pig houses.
The containerised unit is a self-contained cogeneration module, requiring only a fuel gas source, electrical and water connections. The unit was commissioned in early 2009.
